THE WOODS

Total width 20 feet. Total height nine feet. 2.5 ltr paint tin for scale.

For technical reasons these are three flats. Two eight feet wide downstage and one seven feet wide at the back. (You can just see the left bottom edge of the back one in the centre.)
There is a one foot high ground row along the front between the two downstage flats to hide the base of the back flat. There is a lot of sky to be seen on the right. Here I have painted the outline of the dwarves cottage in "Invisiible blue" so that Snow White can say "Oh there's a cottage in the distance" whereupon Lighting brings up a UV lamp and cottage appears. Trouble is the invisible blue aint so invisible after all and is slightly glossy so look carefully in this photo and you can see it!

Toadstools are great way of showing depth and perspective. Also I have the warmest coloured ones at the front. Lots of overlaps too.
It will be interesting to see if the Producer brings any cast in beteween the front and back flats, because in "reality" you would see them behind the right and left trees. Yet usually audiences never query this anomaly. It's all make believe in any case.
