SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME

WHITE HORSE INN
Designed and painted by Brian Willis.
Sets constructed by Derek Allan, Stan Moss, Jim Moorhead, Jim Moffatt and Billy Drennan.
Performed by Lisnagarvey Operatic Society (1968)

The Cow Shed. This Barn was in two reversible sections, both on castors. The door on the right was practical and opened to the other side to become the door onto the balcony of the White Horse Inn. The cow was free standing plywood and had a couple of practical"udders" which when pulled made the tail go up and down and of course there was "milk" which came into the bucket.

Note the horrible straight-edged join on the left fir tree wing. Never again, because from then on I made any overlaps follow the shape of the tree branches, or whatever element was painted on the flat (panels, stone-work etc)
