SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
SOUND OF MUSIC - Page 2
Designer - Donald O'Brien. Scenic Artist - Brian Willis. Sets constructed by Leonard Quigg
Performed by - Ballycastle Choral Society (2001)

Taken during a rehearsal on the stage. Note the strange perspective of the steps leading down to the water. This "worked" for the audience who were sitting with their eye line about 9 inches above the stage floor.

This photo also shows the folded flat on the left, is open to reveal the painting of the ivy-covered pergola

Another view of the "Lake" scene included to show the practical French windows on the right.

Ivy on left is painted on cloth to marry in with ivy on the flat when opened to hide the join.
